Sodelujoči: Ignaz Schick, Jason Forrest, Aaron Snyder
Moderator: Matjaž Manček
Ob 22.00:
IGNAZ SCHICK – solo (gramofoni, zvočni objekti)
IGNAZ SCHICK & ALZHEIMER TRIO (skupni improvizirani nastop)
IGNAZ SCHICK - prvovrstno gramofonsko rokohitrstvo
Pri nas smo ga lahko videli že v predstavi No tea, no dogs.
Ljubljanski del festivala Zvočni most Lj- Berlin se bo nadaljeval in zaključil v sredo, 10. maja z nastopom tria BLIND SNAKES v klubu Channel Zero (glej prilogo)
Obširnejša biografija Ignaza Schicka (v angleščini):
Ignaz Schick (electronics, devices, turntables, as, ...)
* 1972
Studied the saxophone for several years in the mid 80s and started the same time to experiment with turntables, tape manipulations, sampling & multi-track recordings. While and after college touring with various (free) jazz, experimental, improvised & new music ensembles.
From 1992 a three years collaboration with composer Josef Anton Riedl as an assistant and musician for several festivals & productions - at the same time a short but intense phase at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. There his interest shifted strongly towards found objects, self made devices and electronics - among others he started using a wide array of contact mics and pick-ups which he treated and manipulated with his own techniques.
Awarded with the "Foerderstipendium Musik" by the City of Munich in 1994.
Moved to Berlin in 1995 where he has been working with numerous groups and musicians of the younger generation (often labeled as the "Berlin Nouvelle Vague"). The main focus is on electro-acoustic music, object & field recordings, noise & sound art. He has developed a personal style of turntabalism in which he plays (among other extended techniques) selected objects directly on the rotating metal plate and on prepared surfaces. A small microphone amplifies the resulting sounds created by friction.
In 1998 he founded "Edition Zangi" followed by the label "Zarek" in 2000: Within the last years he has organized & produced many events, concert series & international festivals of experimental music in Berlin and elsewhere. Also he worked as guest curator for different organisations (Garage Stralsund, Staatsbank Berlin, Freunde Guter Musik Berlin, ...) . Since early 2004 he works as sales manager for the electronic music label Staalplaat Amsterdam/Berlin.
