HIS CLANCYNESS (Italy) Jonathan Clancy’s solo project did not stay lonely for long. Soon his game of post-punk, kraut rock and folk was joined by Giulia, Jacopo and Nico. Their debut LP "Vicious" was released by the FatCat label, launching the band’s endless voyage of live shows - from European highlights at festivals The Great Escape, All Tomorrow's Parties and Le Guess Who? to the infamous madhouse on the other side of the Atlantic: SXSW. Along the way, the band shared the stage with telling names of the music world: Deerhunter, Maxïmo Park, Widowspeak and MGMT. Luckily these experiences resulted in a new wave of inspiration, which the now well-versed team poured into a fresh record that came out in October, titled "Isolation Culture". THE ILLS (Slovakia) Two guitars, a bass and drums. Smells like post-rock. And it is. The kind that's best consumed live, when the band puts the hardcore pedal to the floor and when elements of shoegaze, progressive and math rock and punk resound somewhere between the intimate and the noisy. The band released its fourth album in April, titled “Ornamental or Mental”, which clearly hinted at the fact that it's time to perform at MENT. They certainly feel at home onstage, at least judging from their long list of concerts. They have played everything from small pubs to galleries, from clubs to festivals. The most recent such experience includes a show at the famous Iceland Airwaves, where they were the first Slovakian band to perform at the festival. The Ills break new ground. We are all for it.

Solo projekt Jonathana Clancyja ni dolgo sameval. Kmalu so se mu v igri post-punka, kraut rocka in folka pridružili še Giulia, Jacopo in Nico. Prvenec "Vicious" je izšel za znamko FatCat in bend izstrelil na neskončno pot koncertov - od evropskih vrhuncev na festivalih The Great Escape, All Tomorrow's Parties in Le Guess Who?, do znamenite norišnice onkraj oceana: SXSW. Vmes si je bend odre delil z zgovornimi imeni: Deerhunter, Maxïmo Park, Widowspeak in MGMT. Na srečo so vse poti obrodile tudi nov val inspiracije, ki ga je sedaj utrjena ekipa prelila v čisto svežo, oktobra izdano ploščo "Isolation Culture".
Dve kitari, bas in bobni. Diši po post-rocku. In to tudi je. Tisti, ki se ga najbolje konzumira v živo. Ko bend pritisne na hardcore pedala in ko nekje med intimnimi in hrupnimi deli odmevajo elementi shoegaza, progresivnega in matematičnega rocka ter punka. Aprila so izdali svoj četrti album, naslovljen “Ornamental or Mental”, ki je očitno namignil, da je morda čas za nastop na MENTu. Na odrih so tako ali tako - po spisku koncertov sodeč - očitno več kot doma. Preigrali so vse od malih pubov do galerij, od klubov do festivalov. Med temi je najbolj sveža izkušnja sloviti Iceland Airwaves, kjer so nastopili kot prvi slovaški bend. The Ills pač podirajo meje. Mi smo za.
Rotterdamski trio, eden najboljših nizozemskih hrupnih bendov, sprošča zajetno dozo zvočne napetosti, ki se ovija okoli tesnobnega vokala pevke in kitaristke Alicie Breton Ferrer. Nevrotičen kot življenje, pomirjajoč kot smrt, je njihov samonaslovljen drugi album izšel oktobra 2016 pri založbi Subroutine Records, oder pa so si že delili s soničnimii sorodniki z Balkana, zasedbama Repetitor in Vlasta Popić.
